Electrical works involve the design (if applicable), supply, installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of complete electrical systems within a building or facility. These works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and authority requirements to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient distribution and utilization of electrical power.
The scope of electrical works includes, but is not limited to:
Installation of electrical wiring systems, including conduits, trunking, cable trays, and associated accessories
Supply and installation of lighting systems, including internal and external lighting fixtures, emergency lighting, and lighting controls
Installation of power outlets, switches, isolators, and socket outlets for general and specialized use
Supply and installation of distribution boards, panels, circuit breakers, protective devices, and metering systems
Installation of earthing and bonding systems to ensure electrical safety
Provision of low-current systems interfaces such as fire alarm, data, telephone, CCTV, and access control where applicable
Testing and commissioning of all electrical installations, including insulation resistance testing, continuity testing, and functional performance checks
Compliance with energy efficiency standards and integration with backup power systems such as generators and UPS where required
All electrical works shall ensure the safe distribution of electricity, reliable operation of electrical appliances and systems, protection against electrical faults, and long-term operational efficiency of the facility.
